American Specialty Health Contributes to Southern California Wildfire Relief and Recovery

SAN DIEGO (December 07, 2007) –

The wildfires scorched over 350,000 acres of land, forced thousands to evacuate their residences, destroyed 1,500 homes, and caused an estimated $2 billion in property loss. ASH’s contribution will help to support the American Red Cross as the organization assists those who were displaced by the fires.

“The wildfires in Southern California have been extremely challenging for everyone,” said American Specialty Health chairman and CEO George DeVries. “We can take comfort in knowing that, in the midst of tragedy, organizations like the American Red Cross are providing for those people who need it most. And because we have employees, clients, and friends who were all affected by the fires, we felt even more compelled to help in the best way we could.“

“Our thanks go out to all of the firefighters and emergency responders, and our thoughts go out to all of those still struggling with the fire’s aftermath.”
