Healthyroads Wins 2009 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence
SAN DIEGO (August 05, 2009) –
Healthyroads, the prevention and wellness management services subsidiary of national health and wellness company American Specialty Health (ASH), was recently honored with a Grand Award and three Awards of Excellence at the twenty-first annual Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) competition. APEX awards are based on superiority in graphic design, editorial content, and the success of the entry—in the opinion of the judges—in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.
In the major category of Campaigns, Programs, & Plans, Healthyroads secured a prestigious Grand Award for its How to Build a Fit Company™ guidebook. The goal of this piece, filled with colorful and vibrant marketing materials, is to increase member engagement in Healthyroads weight management, tobacco cessation, and healthy living programs by giving clients the communications tools they need to promote the Healthyroads program within their organizations.
In addition to the Grand Award, Healthyroads won three Awards of Excellence for its tobacco cessation guide (in the Brochures, Manuals, & Reports category), wellness webinar (Electronic & Video Publications category), and worksite education materials (Campaigns, Programs, & Plans category).

With close to 3,800 entries, the APEX awards are considered to be an "exceptionally intense" competition. APEX presented 100 Grand Awards in 11 major categories and 1,158 Awards of Excellence in 122 sub-categories this year. APEX Grand Awards honor the outstanding works in each main category, while APEX Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional entries in each of the sub-categories.
