FCHP to Keep Members Healthy—Naturally
Members Can Now Receive Discounts on Complementary Health Care Services
Worcester, MA (May 7, 2003) -- In response to a growing consumer demand for complementary health care services, Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) has introduced a new discount program.
Called Naturally Well, the new program offers members discounts on acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and health and wellness products. According to the most recent statistics, one in four Americans combines complementary health care with traditional medicine.
"This new program is another great example of how we've listened to the marketplace and responded," said Bill Mazza, Fallon Community Health Plan's Vice President of Sales and Corporate Communications. "The addition of Naturally Well is part of our ongoing commitment to offer choice and greater flexibility–without adding to the monthly premiums employers and members currently pay."
Naturally Well is available at no charge to Fallon Community Health Plan members and accompanies already existing discounts on select fitness center memberships and LASIK/PRK surgery.
The health plan teamed with San Diego-based American Specialty Health Networks, Inc. (ASH Networks) to offer the program to its members. Members receive discounts of up to 25 percent off services from ASH Networks' credentialed network of chiropractors, acupuncturists and licensed massage therapists –without a referral from their physician. This is in addition to the existing chiropractic benefits currently available to all FCHP members, also offered in collaboration with ASH Networks.
Via the health plan's Web site, www.fchp.org, members can also access the Healthyroads Web site, an affiliate of ASH Networks, which features complementary health care resources. These include more than 2,400 health and wellness products at discounted prices, educational information about complementary health care services and a comprehensive, interactive program that includes a health assessment quiz and other tools to find information on personal health issues.
