American Specialty Health and Healthyroads Net Four “Finest” Awards from Health Care Communicators of San Diego
SAN DIEGO (Feb. 14, 2007) – American Specialty Health (ASH), the nation’s premier personal health improvement organization, garnered four top awards from the Health Care Communicators of San Diego at their awards dinner on Thursday, Feb. 8. The annual Finest Awards recognize excellence in communications through a variety of media in the health care industry.
Entries included public relations campaigns, feature and marketing writing, advertising, trade show exhibits, special events, and others. A rotating group of independent, out-of-state organizations reviews the entries each year.
ASH and its wellness subsidiary, Healthyroads, Inc., earned Gold Awards in the following categories for these entries:
- Brochures— single, three-color: 2005 Year in Review
- Brochures— series: Healthyroads eXtremeFUN™ Weight Management for Kids and Teens
- External Multiple-Day Event: ASH Bridges to Better Health Conference
ASH also earned a Silver Award in the single brochures category for its Health Plan Sales Brochure.
The Healthyroads eXtremeFUN™ program is designed to help children and teens manage their weight and learn–with their parents–how to make better health decisions and lead more active lifestyles. The eXtremeFUN program is tailored to children and teens in four age groups and includes educational manuals and CDs as well as supporting educational materials for their parents. It is complemented by Healthyroads’ eXtremeQUIT™ tobacco cessation program for teens and their parents, and eXtremeLIVING™, a healthy living program dedicated to helping children and teens integrate nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle habits into their daily lives. The eXtremeFUN, eXtremeQUIT, and eXtremeLIVING programs are provided by ASH subsidiary Healthyroads, Inc.
The annual Bridges to Better Health conference is an invitation-only event held on Coronado Island for health plan, employer, and insurance company representatives to learn about the latest developments in complementary health care benefit, wellness, and fitness programs.
